Point Oven licensing

Point Oven needs a valid license in order to work, so once you have placed your order, the first step is to request a license. Here's how:

Single user license

1. Download the license request program here: Downloads page

2. Extract the .exe to your hard drive and run it as admin (right click). XP users just run as normal.

3. Press the browse button to specify the location where you wish the license to reside. Note this should be local to your machine, and in a location where you will not delete it by accident.

4. Once you have specified a license location, press the "Generate license request" button.

5. A file called policrequest.lic has now been created in the directory you specified. Zip or rar that file and email it to license@ef9.com. Please include your purchase information in the email.

6. After a short period of time you will then recieve a file called PointOven.lic in a zip file from me. If you cannot receive zip files via email please advise a different format for delivery.

7. Place the POLicense.lic file into the same directory as the policrequest.lic was generated.

8. Using the license request program press the "Test License" button

9. If all has gone well the license request program should display a message saying "License is active".

License removal and transfer

Once installed, the single user license is locked to your machine hardware, so if you change your computer, CPU, reinstall the operating system, or make radical changes to your configuration the license will stop working. ( Changing network card, graphics cards, or additional storage will not affect the license system. )
If you are making a big change to your machine you need to transfer your license BEFORE you make the change, here's how:

1. Download the license request program here: Downloads page

2. Extract the .exe to your hard drive and run it as admin (right click). XP users just run as normal.

3. Press the "Remove License" button.

4. You will be presented with a removal code. This code enables you to request a new license.

5. After your change of computer or reinstall of OS etc is done, request a new license using the method described in the Single user license section of these docs and include in your email the license removal code.

Site license

1. Download the site license request program here: Downloads page

2. Extract the .exe to your hard drive and run it as admin (right click). XP users just run as normal.

3. Press the browse button to specify the location where you wish the license to reside. Note this must be a location that can be seen by all of the computers you wish to use Point Oven on, and in a location where you will not delete it by accident.

10. This process has installed the license on one machine. To install the license on other machines, run the SiteLicenseRequest.exe on the machine, browse to the location of the POLicense.lic file and press the "Install license" button. Pressing the "Test license" should then display a message saying "License is active". Note the license request is only done once for the site license.

Host dongle license for Lightwave and Messiah

The Point Oven 1.5 license system locks to your computer and all plugins will operate once this license is in place. In previous versions of Point Oven the Messiah and Lightwave plugins locked to the respective programs dongle ID number. This made moving the plugins to different machines easier and so the feature is still available. The LW and Messiah plugins will first check for a valid machine based license and if not found will then check for a valid dongle ID license. The dongle ID license is backward compatible so old licenses will work. To request a new dongle ID license follow these steps:

1. Download the blank license keys here: Downloads page

2. Unzip the license keys to C:\PointOven.

3. Install the plugins and then try and use them. You will be presented with your dongle ID number. Email the dongle numbers to license@ef9.com. Please include your purchase information in the email.

4. After a short period of time you will then recieve a zip file from me. If you cannot receive zip files via email please advise a different format for delivery.

5. Unzip the new files to C:\PointOven and you should then be able to access the Point Oven plugins.
